Editor's Take
Zoom went from a verb to a commodity. In 2020, there was no alternative. In 2026, Teams and Meet are both excellent and often free with your existing enterprise license. So why does Zoom still matter? Two things: reliability and simplicity. Zoom calls just work. The audio quality is noticeably better than competitors, breakout rooms are seamless, and the AI Companion actually generates useful meeting summaries. If your company already pays for Microsoft 365, Teams is fine and free. If you need the best meeting experience and do not mind paying $13/user, Zoom is still the gold standard.
